Esela: God of Youth, Femininity, and Modesty
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Esela is a smaller god, at 5'0". They have curly/wavy pastel pink hair, in a sort of bob with bangs. Their hair has a lot of volume, for how short it is. She has very pale skin and scattered freckles, which are very faint, if visible at all. Her eyes are a bright blue. Their clothes are very light and flowy, consisting of a light, layered dress with a belt on the waist, and flats with ribbons going up their legs. They have two bracelets, one on each of their wrists, given to them from their clan's elder.
PERSONALITY
Kind, sweet, but naive and childish. Looks for the good in everyone, even if they have no good in them. Is often taken advantage of due to their naivety and gullibility, and they know it. Esela has tried to confront this, but usually backs down. Doesn't like fighting, especially between their friends. Very soft and loving. Sort of like the mom friend. Gets scared easily, and she's not good at speaking to people. Became very close to Merisdae, and later Eudora. Esela couldn't stand being alone on the moon for so long, so once Merisdae left, they became very protective of Eudora in attempts to keep her with them on the moon.
STORY
Esela is from the Clan of Soaring Melodies, Sjanka vi Naeuii Tomouii. Founded by [elder's name here], Sjanka vi Naeuii Tomouii is a clan that tends to have gods with musical traits. [elder's name here] was the God of Music themselves, and as such, music was a very big deal to gods in the clan - being the primary focus of celebrations. Soon before Esela was born, Naeuii Tomouii absorbed a much smaller clan called [Gaerlin's clan's name].
Esela vi Naeuii Tomouii is the Goddess of Youth, Femininity, and Modesty. She was not one of the first generations of Gods, maybe the third or fourth, but she was directly descended from the elder. As such, Esela was held up to very high standards. Due to the way the Souls treated the Gods when they were first created, a lot of the oldest Gods very strongly dislike the Souls. For Esela to talk to, let alone befriend a Soul, would ruin her relationship with her clan members.
Esela knew this, but being the Goddess of Youth comes with naivety. One winter day while exploring, Esela comes across a wanderer who introduces themselves as "Cold" - not as in the temperature, but their name was simply "Cold". Esela tries to help this wanderer, soon becoming very close friends with them. When she tries to bring Cold back to the clan, however, Cold refuses to go. They finally reveal that they are a Soul, and not a god, and that Cold had heard many stories about the hatred between the two species - Cold was afraid of what would happen if they were to be found out. Esela understands this, having learned that from very young.
The two spend a lot of time together, away from Esela's clan, but it soon becomes tiring for Esela to keep someone so close to her away from her family. By this time, Cold and Esela had been friends for a couple years without Sjanka vi Naeuii Tomouii finding out. Esela finally decides to bring Cold to the clan, but the Elder is not a fan of this decision. Out of fear of the souls and anger at Esela's naivety, the Elder sends the young god to the moon. On the moon lived a very old god - one who is known by the gods on Earth as "Mitandou", meaning "jailor" in Varae. Mitandou was requested to find a suitable punishment for the crime that Esela had committed to her clan. They didn't care much for others, tending to isolate themself from other gods. In light of this, Mitandou decided to keep Esela on the moon - away from themself but also away from the gods on Earth.
Progressively, Esela had been getting more and more lonely on the moon. Around 200 years had passed since they were banished to this desolate rock, with no one to speak to or pass the time with. Eventually, they became sick of it and decided to make a construct to keep her company. On the nights of what would be a crescent moon, a blood moon, a blue moon, a full moon, and a new moon from her clan back on Earth, Esela collected pieces of the moon. Once all five pieces were collected, Esela used the pieces of moon and some of their dust to create Merisdae, who will become known as the construct of moon.
As Merisdae grew up with Esela during their time on the moon, Esela taught Merisdae traditions from Sjanka vi Naeuii Tomouii and from Earth - things like singing and music. Merisdae loved singing, and Esela would often make music for Merisdae to sing along to. This companionship helped Esela bear being away from Earth for so long - for as long as they had Merisdae, Esela had music and a friend.
